“In the tradition of shorter works for soloist and ensemble, I am thrilled to compose a concert piece for violin and orchestra for virtuoso Ioana Galu and the Central Ohio Symphony. The piece will be in one movement of about 12 minutes in duration and will be scored for full orchestra. The expressive qualities of the violin coupled with the rich timbre of the orchestra provide limitless possibilities for creating a work that highlights the strength and fragility of each medium.”--Marilyn Shrude
