Workshop Presentation: "Crossover: Bridging the Gap Between Classical and Popular Music"

Ioana Galu to give a presentation at The College of Wooster on the cultural significance of Classical Crossover genre. The presentation will include a brief lecture and will end with a performance of works in this genre. Works include pieces for violin and piano, and works for amplified violin and backing tracks.

Annual Festival: “American Musicians in Transylvania”

The Romanian-American annual chamber music festival "American Musicians in Transylvania", sponsored by the Bistrita Society of Concerts, brings artists and teachers from Romania and the United States together for a week of recitals and masterclasses. This year's guest artists and teachers include Iuliana Cotirlea (violin), Solungga Fang-Tzu Liu (piano), Jane Schoonmaker Rogers (soprano), and Kevin Bylsma (collaborative pianist).

Ioana Galu, with violinist Iuliana Cotirlea, records “Music of Political Unrest: Bacewicz, Gorecki, Spisak”, a collection of violin duos by composers who experienced political unrest during their lives. Recorded in Winston Salem, NC by Ovation Studios, to be released summer of 2015 in Romania.
